< 「桜のごと、とく散るものはなし」と人の言ひければよめる >
桜花 とく散りぬとも おもほへず 人の心ぞ 風もふきあへぬ

< Composed, in response to a person’s saying ‘there is nothing other than cherry blossoms that scatter so quickly’. >
Cherry blossoms; –
I don’t think they scatter,
As quickly as peoples’ hearts,
Which will alter,
Than the wind blows through, earlier.

(鑑賞)
< 桜のように早く散るものはない」と、ある人が言ったので詠んだ歌 >
桜の花はとくに早く散るとも思われず、むしろ人の心こそ風がふき抜けないうちに変ってしまうのです。
(Appreciation)
I don’t think cherry blossoms scatter as quickly as peoples’ hearts which will change before the wind blows through.
